My oldest (6) and I were coming home on Saturday night from a b-day party for one of his classmates. He asked if he could watch a movie after we got home? I said that he would have to ask his dad after we got home because I had to work that night. He replied "But you're the king, mom".
I agreed and told him that of course, he could watch any movie he wanted to!

You have to be very careful what you say around my four year old, she hears everything and remembers it. We were heading to gymnastics one tuesday, and I mention that Caleb( a boy that she is fond of) is going to be there, she looks at me and says "Oh mom, don't worry we are not doing it" I was sure I misunderstood her, so I said " what did you say? She replies "Mom, don't worry Caleb and I are not doing it" Not sure how to respond to this, I say Well thats good to hear. I thought for quite sometime on where she would have heard that at. I remembered that earlier in the week, we were watching All my Children and my husband was home and I told him that Erica and Ryan were doing it, and Emjay asked what that meant, I told her that it meant they were boyfriend and girlfriend. I was taught A good lesson that day.

I would say to my 3 year old "Ready Freddie" or "Home James" and he would say "I'm not Freddie, I'm Bryce!" One day it shocked me when we were leaving the store and I told him we were done and he looked at me with a smile on his face and said "Ready Freddie"

My four year old is always saying to me " Mommy, you don't want me to grow up, do you? But I am...." It is like he is trying to break it to me gently He says it all the time! I love it when he thanks me for making dinner ( my husband makes it a point to every night so I think he picked it up from him). The other night he told me I needed to tell my sister to tell her son to be nice and share when he came over to our house and followed it with "It's up to you!" That was had me laughing hard while trying to be serious.

I had the Swiffer theme song stuck in my head; "Who's that ladaaay? Sexy laddaay!" So I as I finnish singing "Who's that ladaaay" my 6 year old son chimes in with "Sexy ladaay!" I about peed myself. My almost 8 year old daughter then lovingly informs my son that "mommy is NOT sexy - only sexy in an OLD way"!

This happened last night:
My son has three birthday celebrations this week. Sunday we went to Kids Body Shop, Thursday we go out to eat for his actual birthday and Saturday is the celebration with the family. It was so hard for him to understand his birthday was coming after my Sister's and my birthday.
Last night I told him "You are going to have a birthday party in a couple of days" He looked at me confused and said "Again?" Then I asked him what he wanted to eat for dinner on his birthday and he put his finger up to his lips, pondered in thought and said "Lobster"!

my daughter was a big-time thumb sucker. My husband would always ask her if she was sucking his thumb. She hated that he would try to tell her that she was sucking his thumb when she knew darn well it was her thumb and she would get frustrated and tell him it's not his thumb. Finally, one morning when she was about 3, he started the routine asking her if she was sucking his thumb. Without skipping a beat she calmly said, "Papa, you have to share."
